Well we are half way through the semester and I am trying to get ahead in my studio work so that I'm not struggling at the end of the semester... wish me luck. I have an art history exam today, and I have sanded down the whole bottom half of my table so its ready for stain and i can start on the benches.

Cat Soup Animation
1. This movie is about this little boy cat. His sister is sick and dining and when he almost drowns in the bath tub he follower the spirt taking her soul and brings back half of it. When he is revived by his drunk father cat they find his sister dead in her bed, but the little cat places her half of a soul back on her and she comes back to life. (though she is only half there) then they go through a serious of unfortunate events. A bad circus act of violence leads to a flood of the whole land and they only survive in a boat with a pig man who they torture and eat. Then they are almost eaten by a crazy man in a bondage costume who fattens them up for his cat soup. Once they escape things only continue to get more and more insane. All the violence in the world goes into reverse so that it never happens. Towards the end the brother picks a flower for his sister and when she sniffs it her soul is returned and she is whole and back to her normal self. They go home and are having dinner with their family and when the little cat goes potty they disappear like when you turn off the tv and he is all alone again. SAD-
The big moments that I noticed, were god ( man dressed in all white) holding the fate of the world in his hand and eating it, parents being too busy and not paying attention to their children, magic, the way we treat animals (maybe a touch on how they treated at a slaughter house) the grim reaper taking the sisters soul. It also brought to light they violence that children see and don't understand.
2. The artist uses cute characters along side creative sound effects to get the viewers attention. I also noticed that they used events, stories, and characters that would be somewhat familiar to all different types of cultures. The dark humor is an attention grabber as well. They also had a lot of symbol heads.
3. I really enjoyed that this narrative didn't have words, it leaves the concept up to each individual viewer's interpretation and i found that refreshing. I did get little lost in all different ideas smashed together, but I did like what I could understand.

I am relaxed after having fixed a lot of my small problems in life. I am studying hard for the PRE and will be taking it this Saturday! Fingers crossed and I'm excepting good mojo! I have found a table for to remake for my table and bench project so that will finally be taking off. I am also really excited about the movie project we are doing in digital media. I am taking life one day at a time for now and hoping that everything will work out for the best!

An Issue to Make Animation About
If I was going to make an animation about anything I could it would be about the ever so difficult life of being a girl. or even just about the experiences that we have being human. I feel like it would be comical and serious all at once.

After freaking out on Tuesday I have received both good and bad news. I will be taking my PRE test on the 10th but I have less pressure because it doesn't have to be completed until I start my student teaching in the fall! I may not have a a lot of time to study for this test but i am going to do my best and let my brain prove its worth! I know i'm smart and i know this what i want to do for the rest of my life and i'm not giving up!
